Pinnacle Security Officers Respond to Bourbon St. Shooting
We would like to commend the actions of three of our armed security officers that were working on Bourbon St. during the double shooting last night. The shooting took place while one of the officers was conducting a client escort for an employee of one of the locations we are currently servicing. The gunshots rang out just feet away from the officer and the client. The officer was able to safely escort the client into a doorway and behind cover. Knowing that one of their coworkers was conducting the escort in the area, the other two officers immediately responded as the shots were still being fired. All three Pinnacle Security Officers were the first to arrive and immediately began to secure the scene. One of the officers also rendered aid to the victim. The officers obtained a description of the perpetrator and dialed 911.
Pinnacle Officers were able to secure the scene until NOPD officers arrived just minutes later and took control. We would also like to recognize the NOPD 8th District Officers for their immediate response, especially given the fact it was a busy Saturday night.
The teamwork these officers displayed during their response was a text book example of trained officers taking action and not just standing by. This incident displayed the benefits of having experienced former law enforcement officers working in the role of armed security and how it can increase the value of any security plan. This is another example of the successes that our experienced officers are seeing in our security operations throughout New Orleans.
